Lunch/Dinner - Non Veg Starters - Lemon Fish Fry

Lemon Fish Fry

  1. Wash the fish and add salt to each piece then add 1 lemon juice, also add the lemon skin to the fish. Then add coriander powder, curry powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, soya sauce, chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Marinate for 1-2 hrs in fridge.
  2. Take each fish piece and fry in medium flame.
  3. Flip them and fry till they turn to golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile in a separate pan saute the onions and saute them. Add other gravy ingredients one by one and saute for 2 mins. Finally add fried fish pieces to this mixture. If you add water it turns out awesome gravy.

Rice Flour1/2 Cup
Semolina/Sooji1/2 Cup

Method


  • Add "Marinate" ingredients to the fish pieces and keep it aside for 2 hrs.
  • Add all masalas in a bowl and mix well.
  • Take a fish piece dip into masala on both sides. On the same way do with rice flour and finally in semolina. Do the same for all the pieces.
  • Fry them in oil on both sides till they become crispy.

Recipe Tips


  • Be careful while adding salt, as fish itself is little bit salty in taste.

Method


  • Dry roast the jowar flour and poppy seeds in low temparature. Blend this with the masala.
  • In a pan add oil. In a hot coconut oil add cumin seeds, onions and salt. Cook them till they turn lightly golden color.
  • Add ginger garlic paste,turmeric and masala.
  • Immediately add chicken and water. Cook this for 20 mins or till the chicken becomes tender.
  • Cook it till the oil oozes out of the mixture. Finish with the coriander leaves.

Recipe Tips


  • Dont burn the jowar flour and poppy seeds.

Method


  • Add oil to the pan. when it is hot add cumin, cardomom, cinnamon to the oil. Stir it for a while to get the aroma. Then add chopped garlic and cook for 2 mins.
  • Add onions and stir it till they becom golden color. Add curry leaves.
  • Add tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Cook till it becomes dark brown. Add turmeric, chilli powder, cumin powder and stir it well.
  • Add chicken pieces and water to it. Cook for 15 mins in slow fire. When the chicken is well cooked finish it of with pepper. Mix it along with chicken.

Method


  • In a pan dry roast poppy seeds for 3-5 mins in medium flame.
  • Add Coconut powder to the mixture and roast them for 2 more mins. Do a fine paste with this by adding little.
  • In a pan add 3 Tbsp of oil. Add cumin seeds. Once they are splutter add onions, chillies, ginger garlic paste,garam masla, coriander powder, curry leaves and turmeric.
  • Add masala paste to this mixture. Keep stirring till the water goes out of the paste. Now add the chicken pieces to this and mix well by adding water to this. Cook for 15 mins in medium flame by covering lid.
  • Add pepper,salt and cover with lid and cook for 10 mins.
  • Add Coriander and simmer the flame for 10 mins.
