Preparation Time15 Mins
Cooking Time30 Mins
Soaking Time5-6 hrs

Method

  • Wash rice and urad dal and add poha to the mix. Soak this mix in buttermilk for 5-6 hours.
  • Grind to a batter, which is slightly thinner than regular dosa batter. Stop grinding when the batter is of pouring consistency.
  • Add the baking soda (optional), required salt and mix well.
  • Heat a dosa tawa/griddle and grease it.Pour a ladle full of batter on it and make dosa. Don’t spread it to make the dosa thinner.
  • Drizzle few drops of oil around it and cover with a lid. After 2 minutes, take off the lid. No need to flip it and cook the other side.
  • Now the soft, spongy melt-in-the-mouth dosa is ready to be served with any chutney of your choice.

Recipe Tips

  • This buttermilk dosa is a super soft dosa that melts in mouth. Light golden brown in colour and mildly crisp on the edges, this dosa can be relished with any chutney.
