Ingredients

Eggs2
Butter1 cup,softened
Sugar1 1/2 cups
Buttermilk5 to 6 tblsp
Ripe Bananas2 1/2 to 3 cups,mashed
Plain Flour3 cups
Baking Powder1 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda1 1/2 tsp
Salt1 tsp
For the topping
Choco Chips2 cups
Brown Sugar1 cup + 1/4 cup
Walnuts (or Almonds)1 cup,chopped
Cinnamon2 tblsp

Method


  • Mix the butter and sugar in a bowl, beat until creamy.Add the buttermilk, bananas and egg. Mix well.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in an another bowl.
  • Add the flour mixture to the banana mixture and stir well until evenly blended.Mix together the topping ingredients in a bowl.
  • Spread half of the cake mixture into a greased 8″ baking pan. some of the toppings and spoon over the remaining cake mixture.Spread it evenly and sprinkle the remaining toppings.
  • Place the pan into a preheated oven at 350F/175C.Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.Remove and cool.

Recipe Tips


  • A delicious and easy to make breakfast or tea time cake. Can also be served as a dessert.
