- Wash tomatoes thoroughly and chop it. Heat a pan and add oil to it. When oil is hot add garlic cloves and then tomatoes.
- Once the tomatoe becomes tender add tamarind. Cook this for 3 mins.
- Blend it to a fine paste by adding salt,methi powder and chilli powder. Do not add any water,as the tomatoes itself contains water.
- After that heat oil in a kadai, add the tempering ingredients one by one and after that add this ground chutney to it and cook in medium heat until the moisture dries and oil floats on top.(takes about 5-7 minutes)
- You can also add a pinch of sugar or jaggery in the end and simmer for few minutes. This will help to balance to sour n spicy taste if u are giving for kids.
- It can be stored for a month without tempering.
- Serve this chutney with Idli,Dosa/ Utappam,Upma,Roti etc…
