Snacks - Pakoda - Potato Cheese Balls

Potato Cheese Balls

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute onions and green chillies till they turn to golden in color. Add ginger garlic paste and mix it.
  2. Now add chopped potatoes,close the lid and cook this in medium flame for 10 mins. Once the potatoes becomes soft keep the mixture aside to get cool.
  3. Keep the oil pan to deep fry. Once the mixture is cool add other ingredients and mix well. Mash them nicely with hands.
  4. Prepare small balls with the mixture and keep them aside.
  5. Put it in hot oil and deep fry until golden flame on high flame.
  1. You can even dip the cheese ball in the maida batter and roll over with sooji or bread crumbs.

  1. Add tempering seasons in a pan. Add onions,green chillies and saute them well.
  2. Add methi leaves, mashed potatoes,garam masala,turmeric powder and coriander powder to the mixture. Mix well till the methi leaves becomes fry.
  3. Add Oats to the mixture and saute them for 5 mins. Keep the mixture aside to become cool.
  4. Add oil to the skillet to heat. Prepare vada size cutlets and keep them aside.
  5. In a bowl mix gram flour and corn flour together by adding little water. Batter should be like dosa batter. Now dip the cutlets in the batter and drop them slowly in the hot oil.
  6. Fry the cutlets till they turn light brown in color. Remove the fried cutlets and place it in paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat for rest of cutlets.
  1. You can even shallow fry the vadas as against the normal procedure of deep frying.

Lunch/Dinner - Veg Starters - Aloo Mushroom Tikki

  1. Combine all the ingredients(except oil) in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a round, flat 50 mm. (2”) tikki.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) on a medium flame and grease it with oil and cook the tikkis, using little oil.
  4. Flip them and cook , till both sides are golden brown in colour.
Tips :
  1. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.

  1. Boil Potatos for 5 -10 mins. Using a sharp, clean knife, chop the potatoes with caution. You can make the slices as thick or thin as you want, just make sure they are all about the same thickness.
  2. Fill a dry pan with vegetable oil about 1/3 of the way full. Set the stove on medium-high heat. Cook the potato slices in the oil until they are golden brown. Do not burn them, as they will taste absolutely disgusting!Add salt (optional) while still hot to keep the flavor in. Set them on the counter or an area with room temperature to cool.
Tips :
  1. Make sure the vegetable oil is hot before you put the potatoes in. You can test the oil by putting a single fry in there. If it starts cooking immediately, and quickly, the oil is ready.
  2. You can even use raw potatoes to fry.

  1. Soak and boil Jowar till they become soft.
  2. In a pan add 1 Tbsp of oil and fry the "Stuff" ingredients one bye one. Finally add jowar to this and mix well.
  3. Mash the potatoes by adding corn flour.
  4. Take a ball size of potato, stuff the jowar into this and wrap it nicely. Do the same with remaining potato balls.
  5. In a frying pan drop these cutlets and fry them till they turn into golden color.
Tips :
