Breakfast - Poori - Bread Poori

  1. Remove the edges from the bread. Cut the white part into small pieces.Pour a cup of milk in it. Let it rest for 5 mins to obsorb.
  2. Mix the Flour, Salt and 1 Tbsp of Oil together. Mix well to incorporate all the Oil into the Flour.
  3. Heat Oil for frying the Puris on Low-to-medium heat. Allow it to heat very well.Make balls of the dough (approx table-tennis size balls). Take one ball and roll it into a nice, smooth round ball with the palm of your hands.Then press it flat and roll it out with a rolling pin to form a nice even round discs without using flour.
  4. Once the Oil is nice and hot, gently slide the Puris in from the side.The Puri will settle at the bottom for a few seconds before it come up to float.Once it starts floating, gently press on one side with a frying ladle. This will help the Puri to puff up.After a minute or so, flip the Puri and cook on the other side.After another minute, scoop the puri to the side and drain out all the excess oil.

  1. Mix besan flour, chilli powder, salt,coriander leaves,curry leaves,cumin seeds and 1 tbsp oil together well. Rub the besan and water mix between palms to make it fine paste.
  2. Make dough from all purpose flour and water as for any paratha we make.
  3. Make small balls of dough, make a cup shape from the balls and fill 1tbs of besan mix in that, seal it and roll them like lemon size balls.
  4. Roll out the balls into poori as you do for general poori's.
  5. Heat oil pan and fry the poori both side until golden brown apply oil/ghee.
Tips :
  1. Instead of deep fry, also you can fry on tawa like you do for chapatis.
  2. Server with curd, pickle, any vegetable, curry, chutney or with tea.

  1. Add "Paste" ingredients into blender and make a fine paste by adding enough water.
  2. Add "Dough" ingredients and 1 Tbsp of oil and mix it well.
  3. Add the green peas paste and water to make a fine poori dough. Make the dough very stiff by adding required water. If it is sticking to your hands the dough is not stiff.
  4. Divide them into smaller size poori portions. Roll out the poori's.
  5. Deep fry them into oil.
Tips :
  1. You can use even boiled green peas.
  2. You can use All purpose flour instead of wheat Flour.
  3. Semolina is used to make the poori's remained puffed up .
  4. Rolling the poor's too thin nor too thick.
  5. If you roll out the poori's with by applying oil, you can even fry them even a day later. Only thing is you need to cover them with clean wrap.
  6. When you fry poori, just press it on the top of the poori to get puffed up.
