Method
Soak moong dal for 4 hrs and rice for 2 hrs.
Add 2 Tbsp of ghee and let it heat for 15 -20 sec. Add moong dal and saute till the dal turns pinkish golden.
Add rice and saute it well. Once sauted, add 4 cups of water and salt to the rice. As the water comes to boil, lower the flame and cover the pan with lid. Allow the rice to cook for 5-10 mins.
In a seasoning pan add 1 1/2 Tbsp of ghee. Once the ghee is heated add asafotida, cumin seeds, mustered seeds, urad dal, chana dal, ginger , green chillies, turmeric powder and curry leaves one by one. Add this to the rice and mix well.
