Recipe Tips
- Buttermilk is a probiotic cooling drink that has survived the colas and the packaged shakes and juices. Every family used to make cultured fresh yogurt everyday, and most families in smaller towns still make their own yogurt. The full cream yogurt is churned to make white butter and the remaining thin residue is the buttermilk that is considered cooling and is probiotic due to the presence of lactic acid bacteria.
- Many people like the buttermilk plain, some add salt and pepper and some even add chopped coriander leaves. This recipe is of spiced buttermilk that makes the everyday buttermilk interesting and a little filling too, so that it almost becomes like a snack between meals.
